A
cold, wet Donington for the new Steve Webster Trophy International saw
us knocked out of the (very) wet race, damaging the 'old' bike we were trying
to sell!
Dan demonstrates his dubious technique for the benefit of MCN readers in the Mallory Paddock
Not a very pleasant display from where I was sitting, but breaking fresh ground with MCN.
Many
hours have been spent Dyno testing on the JEB's engineering Dyno with John
Baker.
As we increased our knowledge of areas of engineering previously
categorised as
‘black-magic’, it eventually all started to pay off around mid season
when we found ourselves at Sachsenring with what in theory was the
fastest sidecar in the universe. And by some margin at that!
Mark (Wally) Walters
normally supplies us with a good supply of excellent pictures.
But not this season, due to some 'commercial issues' between Wally and
Superside. Our German friend Wolfgang Zech came to the rescue at
Assen and Sachsenring with some stunning shots.
Midway through the season at Sachsenring with MotoGP again, and VERY hot weather.
Another spectacular image from Wolfgang clearly showing the badly blistered rear tyre,
only 7 laps into the 11 lap 'Sprint' race.
Our Pit 'ped & Truck put to good overtime use - towing the 'Hospitality' fridge to a new trackside location. Also the caravan which was about to disintegrate on the way home (See the 'Disasters'page).
OOPS. And it wasn't our fault!
An event we won't (but want to) forget. The BLACK DEATH and a crash all in one weekend.
We're normally in the thick of these sort of incidents, resulting in
major 'off's' and much loss of expensive paint and painful flesh.
But for the second time in as many races we somehow escape with a mild excursion and only lose time.
We've carried the
onboard cameras a lot this year - and been rewarded by lots of superb
footage of us both from on and off the bike being shown on TV.
Alas, no podium.
All season we've been battling hard for points with Austrian Moser Team
11. The battle continued right up to the last corner of the last
lap of the last race of the last round.
This season Jos, you got lucky!
